Gotcha: This Modern Glitch

We feel nothing so jump into the fog.

'This Modern Glitch' is less fun than 'A Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation' was - and that makes it even better.

It seems like it was a great youth Murph, Dan and Tord had: girls, no cares and teenage abandon. But then they woke up and stood in the middle of the modern glitch. Although this is something you can mourn about, there is no reason to not write an amazing album about it. With many synths, great guitars, strong drums and tuneful choruses The Wombats experience their preferences for techno music (Techno Fan: The lasers fill our minds with empty plans/I never knew I was a Techno Fan), discover the nature of the modern meritocracy people (Last Night I Dreamt...: I haven't got time for any selfless deeds/What I do for you is indirectly for me), make no secret out of their nostalgic feelings (1996: Bring back 1996/So hard to beat those teenage kicks) and try to find their peace in a bar in Tokyo (Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) or a quite unhygienic hotel room (Jump Into The Fog).
All in all it's a stunning album, which will definitely spend some time in my CD-Player and which was worth the money (yes, I'm the kind of person who still spends money to get a legal version with a case, booklet, ...). I was surprised, because it's quite unusual that the second album is better than the first one - which is in my opinion the case. 'A Guide ...' was good (I loved Moving To New York and Let's Dance To Joy Divusion), but there were also songs, that got on my nerves after some times of listening. 'This Modern Glitch' isn't too obtrusive, but sweeps you away at the same time. And the 2 bonus acoustic tracks (Techno Fan & Anti-D) you get are also worth listening - more than one time.

Go out to your favorite music dealer and buy it! Right now!

Disposable Cam #1

(Eddie Vedder - Rise)

Gonna rise up, burning black holes in dark memories.
Gonna rise up, turning mistakes into gold.

Those pictures were taken on a hiking tour through the beautiful Thüringer Wald (including blisters). I feared that (considering my clumsiness) I would do my (quite expensive) camere any harm. So I decided to use a disposable camera for the first time in my life. The results have convinced and I think I found the perfect solution for taking pictures during the upcoming festival season :D
The light shade of yellow in the second picture from the bottom is caused by a yellowish waste packaging of cheese  ... in case you care.
